Check to see if Extension Manager CS5 lists your Photoshop CS5

Adobe has many reported bugs surrounding their extension manager for CS5. This program allows 3rd party extensions (like our Dashboard) to be installed in CS5 or newer. Each version of Photoshop comes with it's own matching version of the Extension Manager program. This issue seems to afffect CS5 versions only.
IF you open your Extension Manager CS5 and Photoshop is NOT listed in the left column (as shown below) you need to re-install the extension manager component of Photoshop before you'll be able to install our Dashboard, or any Photoshop extension at all. This is an Adobe issue, unfortunately, and we depend on their extension manager working to be able to install our Dashboard. To begin, open your applications or programs folder and look for Adobe Extension Manager CS5. Open it and check to see if your version of Photoshop CS5 appears. If NOT, continue below. If it is there, make sure you have the latest patches for Extension Manager. You can do that with a simple updater, as covered in the step after next.
Use your original installation disc, or download, to do a fresh install of the Adobe Extension Manager for CS5.

Launch your installer. You can select only the Extension Manager components for a quicker install. This should take between 5-7 minutes. Your existing Photoshop plugins, actions, etc. should all be automatically maintained through the re-install. You won't have to re-install previous software or plugins.
Update your Extension Manager for CS5
Download Adobe Extensions MangerNow that it's re-installed, you'll need to do a little maintenance update that fixes a bug in the software. The update is from Adobe and you can get a copy of it from our resources folder where you downloaded the beta of the Dashboard plugin. Download this DMG, open it, then run the updater. If you have CS5.5, then there is also a separate updater for that version, as is for CS6. Those updaters are available from the link at the bottom of this page. This should take about a minute.
Install the Dashboard .zxp file

You should now be able to install the Dashboard .zxp plugin!
If you need the latest Adobe updates, check here. You'll want to update whatever version of Extension Manager you use.
If you have other versions of Photoshop (CS5.5, CS6) and want to make sure you have updates for your software, check adobe's update page: http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
